Why are the loud-hailers known as “loud blokes”; and not “loud chicks”? Why must they be “blokes”? It seems reasonable. Probably most of the people with loud-hailers in their hands in protests are males. Also-; the loudest of them are always in the hands of “blokes”; not “chicks”. It is the voice of “blokes” such as Szeto Wah and Cheung Man-kwong the come through the loud-hailers chanting “Remember June 4” and “Overturn the Verdict of June 4”. One seldom hears voices of “chicks”. Fortunately-; there are very often a bunch of uncooperative kids walking somewhere behind the leading “loud blokes”. Quite a number of them are indeed “loud chicks”.
